The In-House Method of Manufacturing a Low-Cost Heat Pipe with Specified Thermophysical Properties and Geometry

Various types of heat pipes are available to purchase off the shelf, from various manufacturers, but most them have strictly defined geometry and technical parameters. However, when there is a need use pipe (HP) with an unusual size shape or working conditions other than standard ones, it becomes very costly order especially in small quantities, only few producers willing fulfill such order. This paper presents detailed description step-by-step method manufacturing testing low-cost HP specific properties geometry, cooperating modular recovery system based on phase change materials (PCM) for electromobility applications. The presented were made entirely by hand, primarily basic workshop tools, without specialized automated CNC machines. Utensils used during process either hand using desktop FDM 3D printers.
